Student research at FABRIC KNIT workshop
Congratulations to Alfred University's student Dagim Mindaye, for attending and presenting at FABRIC KNIT 11 this October. Dagim is a sophomore Computer Science student, with whom I enjoyed working this summer and fall. In our research, we develop load-aware load balancing in a Kubernetes-orchestrated cluster, as well as analyze security risks and their mitigations when using the QUIC protocol in such an environment - all by moving the logic into the programmable data plane.
Earlier in September, Dagim presented the P4Kube framework and demonstrated how to deploy it in the FABRIC testbed. Dagim is also a recipient of the travel grant for FABRIC KNIT. Read more about this at Alfred University's website here.
Many thanks to the FABRIC team for these opportunities! FABRIC is an invaluable testbed that I actively use both for teaching the Computer Networking course (CSCI-315) and for our research.
